The Artillery Field Officer and his retinue provide artillery support and drive to nearby troops. He can call in fire from all artillery and mortar units, if you have them, to barrage the target location.

Overview Edit

Artillery Field Officer is call-in unit for ostheer, available for variety of doctrines. He costs 240 manpower, being available at 2 cp. He is 5 man infantry unit with one officer and 4 artillery crewmen as his bodyguards. He is versatile support unit, giving multitude of abilities to help turning the battle in your favour. He can boost your infantry being harder to hit or shoot more accurately, call in smoke or heavy mortar barrages. He can perform in close combat role with their Mp 40:s and concentrate artillery fire of your fielded artillery pieces into one location, no matter the cooldown. While he gives versatile support measures, he is vulnerable too. As 5 man squad he can avoid being wiped out by singular grenades and mortars, but he is not enough durable or strong to fight elite infantry. He is forced to be close to enemy to do damage because of his poor accuracy due for using smgs. Also, to use him to full extend, you must use lot of munitions to activate his abilities.

He works best in infantry heavy build orders, having multiple grenadiers or osttruppen who he can support with his abilities, alongside few support weapons.

  • Requires Veteran 1
  • Cost 20Icon Munition COH2 Small.png 20 to activate
  • Cooldown: 45 seconds

German infantry almost all have acces to the Field First Aid kit. This ability unlocks itself after reaching Veterancy 1. Important to remember is that the squad cannot heal itself, it can only be used on other friendly squads.

When you heal another squad, they have to be next to each other and it takes 5 seconds to complete the ability. After that healing takes place over a short period of time. Be careful when you use this ability, as it takes both squads out of combat!
